President's Message
As a result of the pandemic, in March of 2020 the staff of the GLCVB went from 33 team members to 5 team members overnight. Throughout the past two years, the team slowly grew back to 19 team members who have worked tirelessly to advance our mission to positively impact our community’s quality of life by developing the region as a visitor destination.
At the midpoint this year, the GLCVB Board of Directors thoughtfully advanced a budget adjustment which allowed us to hire new positions for our sales, sports and marketing departments. These positions have recently been filled and we are thrilled to welcome the new energy, creativity and ideas that the additional team members bring. Balanced with the dedication and expertise of the existing team, the GLCVB is now well positioned to implement new strategies, serve our clients more strongly and promote our members more broadly to further enrich our community. Keep an eye on this newsletter for updates and introductions to our growing team.
As we engage in the planning process for the 2023 Marketing Plan we value any insights and opportunities you would like to share with us. The team at the GLCVB is positioned to move into 2023 with a focus on the growing future of the visitor economy in our region.
Please reach out to me at jpingston@lansing.org if you have any questions or insights. Thank you!
Julie

As the weeks pass, the weather turns cool and for Michigan State University football fans, it’s the season of tailgating and the satisfaction of a good Spartan victory.
Listen carefully and you’ll hear not only the bells of Beaumont Tower but the rallying cry of “Go Green!” followed by the answer of “Go White!” Some may argue that THIS, this season right here, is the most wonderful time of the year.
