President's Message
I am so enthused that this time next month we will gather together at NCG Cinema for the 2022 GLCVB Annual Meeting. As we have been reviewing the final numbers for 2021, it’s certainly not where we’d like to be in our visitor economy, however, it has been a year of slow growth that continues to move us forward. We hope you will be able to join us on March 1 at 9:00 am as we review 2021 and look forward to the exciting things happening in 2022!
I am also excited to share that the GLCVB Board of Directors has approved a three-year strategic plan to advance the established goals of Destination Development, Community Outreach and Organizational Excellence. During the process, we also enhanced the Mission and Vision for the organization which will better clarify our role in the community. Further details will be provided at the upcoming Annual Meeting.
We have welcomed more CTAs to the community recently with 17 employees from the Crowne Plaza Lansing West and an upcoming class with the Leadership Lansing cohort through the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce. It has been fantastic to see the value of the CTA program resonate now more than ever before. Let us tell you more about the program if you are not a CTA yet!
Thanks for all your support! Please reach out to me at jpingston@lansing.org if I can assist you in any way. Thank you!
Julie
2022 Annual Meeting
Join us at the Greater Lansing Convention & Visitor Bureau's Annual Meeting on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.
I-496 will be closed and detoured starting June 2, 2022 through early November 2022 with detour routes on Malcolm X and St. Joseph beginning at M-99 to the Grand River. Bridges will also be under construction during 2022. At this time, the River Trail should not be impacted. In 2023, traffic will be maintained with one lane in each direction and most of the bridgework will be completed. We will be keeping in contact with MDOT
