Silver Bells in the City

November 18, 2022, in Downtown Lansing

Kick off your holiday season with Silver Bells in the City!

Experience millions of lights, a superb electric light parade, the lighting of Michigan's official Christmas tree, a community sing-along, a firefly drone light show, and fireworks. Visit the Silver Bells Village with Michigan vendors selling all kinds of tasty treats and merchandise.

The Electric Light Parade steps off at 6 p.m. at the corner of Lenawee Street and South Washington Square. More than 60 units and several high school marching bands will sparkle with thousands of lights as they make their way through the streets of downtown Lansing.  The parade is a sight to behold, delighting people of every age.

The participating high school marching bands will compete for the Best Illuminated Band awards during the parade.

At approximately 7:25 p.m., Michigan's Official State Christmas Tree will be lit up! This year's tree is a 63-foot spruce that will be harvested in St. Johns in Michigan's Lower Peninsula. The tree is donated by Mary Ann and Caitlin Beck and is the first tree that has been picked from Clinton County.

Enjoy a  Community Sing with Greater Lansing local Jacob Moran starting approximately at 7:30. Jacob grew up in a multigenerational music family. He recently competed on the 20th season of American Idol in 2022 and made it into the top 20 contestants.

Watch 200 drones performing a Firefly Drone Light Show during Jacob's Moran's performance.

Following the performance, at approximately 7:50 p.m., enjoy a stunning firework display over the Capitol closing out the evening. You don't want to miss this gorgeous display.
