President's Message

Julie Pingston, President

It’s underway! We are excited to begin the rebranding process for the Greater Lansing CVB to be able to best reflect the mission of the organization as we move into 2023. We have partnered with NorthStar Destination Strategies and are looking forward to their onsite visit in mid-October followed by their recommendations for the GLCVB.

We would appreciate the valuable insights of our members in this process by participating in a focus group or by completing the rebranding survey. Please see the information within the newsletter on how you can participate.

Through the GLCVB Board members, staff and members and community partners, we are looking forward to presenting a brand that will capture all we offer to our visitors and clients.

Please reach out to me at jpingston@lansing.org if you have any questions or insights. Thank you

Julie

We need your help! The Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Greater Lansing Sports Authority are in the process of developing a new name and refreshed brand for the two organizations. We have begun a research initiative to uncover what is unique and distinct about our area and how to communicate that with residents and visitors. To facilitate this work, we have partnered with a national leader in marketing places, North Star Place Branding and Marketing. North Star will be in Greater Lansing from October 10-13 for tours, interviews and focus groups.

We’d love to have you share your perspective on the region’s strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities at an upcoming focus group. Please join us on one of the following dates:

- Tuesday, October 11th | 1:45-3 pm

- Wednesday, October 12th | 9:45 – 11 am

- Wednesday, October 12th | 2-3:30 pm

- Wednesday, October 12th | 3:45-5 pm

Location: GLCVB Board Room - 500 E. Michigan Ave., Ste. 180, Lansing, MI 48912

A limited number of spots are available so please reserve your space today!

Register to participate

If you are not available on these dates, you will have an opportunity to share your feedback via a community-wide survey later in October. You can register to receive an email reminder when that survey is open at www.GreaterLansingGreat.com.

We hope you will participate. Your input will help us communicate more effectively about Greater Lansing in the future. For more on the initiative, visit www.GreaterLansingGreat.com and for more about North Star, visit their website

Thank you for your consideration! Questions? Contact Tracy Padot at tpadot@lansing.org.
