Ariel Backus has been a member of the Choose LansingTM sales team since August 1, 2022. Her focus is serving the national/regional association, Michigan State University, and corporate markets.
Ariel is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and a Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA). She is currently working on her Doctorate of Strategic Leadership.

“You can experience so many different settings within a quick drive. The hustle and bustle of vibrant city life is evident in downtown Lansing. Pack a picnic and experience mid-Michigan lake life with a beach day at Lake Lansing. Drive to Mason, St. Johns, and Charlotte to enjoy one of our county fairs. Or immerse yourself in the eclectic vibe of Old Town by browsing its unique boutiques and galleries.
After Hours
Ariel loves spending time with her boys (her husband, two sons, and dog). They have a small hobby farm that includes a herd of mini silky fainting goats. She enjoys gardening, canning, traveling to new places, and everything Penn State.
Ariel is currently the Grand Ledge Rotary Club President.
