LANSING – To cap off National Travel and Tourism Week, MotorCities National Heritage Area has announced a new partnership with Choose Lansing to create and market an automotive heritage itinerary for the Capital Area using the branding “A Day in the MotorCities.”
You can find the results of their efforts and start planning your trip by visiting www.MotorCities.org and clicking “A Day in the MotorCities” at the top of the homepage.
“We’re pleased and excited to have Choose Lansing step up and be the first destination featured with our new ‘A Day in the MotorCities’ program,” said Shawn Pomaville-Size, executive director of MotorCities. “Promoting tourism in our 16-county National Heritage Area is a big part of our mission, and providing suggestions to visitors via itineraries created by partners who are truly the experts on their destinations makes travel easier!”
Over time, MotorCities plans to work with the other destination marketing organizations within the National Heritage Area to add more “A Day in the MotorCities” itineraries.
“We invite all those looking to discover the many locations throughout the Lansing region that showcase the connectivity to our rich automotive history, from the innovations of Ransom Eli Olds and his companies that gave rise to Oldsmobile and the REO Motor Car Company to the impact of developing neighborhoods and philanthropic initiatives that make Lansing what it is today,” said Julie Pingston, president and CEO of Choose Lansing. “On the itinerary, you can also find information to be able to overnight in a former Oldsmobile Executive’s home or dine in the heart of REOTown.”
