At the time Michigan’s State Capitol opened on January 1, 1879, it housed all offices of state government. Over the years the building was dramatically remodeled and altered to meet the changing needs of the state. In 1987, after years of neglect and decline, a project was launched to restore the Capitol to its original beauty. Following the completion of the award-winning restoration in 1992, the Capitol was named a National Historic Landmark.

The Greater Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau is proud to bring this exciting certification program to our region. The program strives to inspire and motivate our front-line employees and volunteers to turn every visitor encounter into a positive experience!
