Students grades 5-12 will join Broadway professionals for a one-of-a-kind virtual theatre learning opportunity. Using a blend of synchronous and asynchronous learning, students will participate in live sessions (via password-protected Zoom meetings) from 10am -3pm each day and have access to pre-recorded lessons.
Participants will explore the “triple threat” disciplines of music, dance, and acting from various musical theatre styles and influences. In group numbers (separated by grade), participants will learn step-by-step choreography, vocal parts, and solos (chosen the week of). Participants will also receive individual song coaching throughout the week, learn characterization and basics of acting through scene work and improv exercises, and dance technique with our team of teaching artists.
With a greater capacity for engagement, this virtual program will also allow for more Broadway professionals to engage our students in master classes and Q&A sessions. At the final showcase (Saturday, August 7, 2022), participants will perform for friends and family in a virtual showcase featuring The HITS of the week.
