OPHELIA AND THE SNOW QUEEN, A Ballet In One Act, is an original story combining dance, physical movement and clarifying narration by Artistic Director P.K. Van Voorhees and presented by a cast of 14 young dancers, aged 6-16. From an angry Hobgoblin that builds an evil mirror, intent on conquering Heaven, bumbling Magical Wizards who create a magical sword, a village boy sent on a very confusing and never-ending mission, a young girl who is his best friend, and mischievous Pixies that befriend the Boy in the Forest, there is a flurry of activity when they encounter a Majestic Snow Owl that kidnaps the Boy, a well-meaning but self-serving Sorceress with a stunning Garden who tries to delay the girl, a Misery Bird who guards the sword day and night, and a group of Angels who assist Ophelia in her darkest moments along with the Spirit of her Mother. OPHELIA AND THE SNOW QUEEN is a fast-paced romp through fairyland with magic, testing the limits of faith in self, Evil vs. Good, a previously sweet Village-Girl-turned-Evil-Snow-Queen and one brave 9-year-old very true friend. For all ages; tickets are $10 through https://www.snow-queen.eventbrite.com or at the door of the Auditorium 30 minutes prior to showtime. March 22 at 7pm and March 23 at 1pm at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Rd., East Lansing (at Burcham).
