Potter Park Zoo is holding a FALCONERS event Apr. 17, 2021
FALCONERS is designed to allow children or adults of all ages with special needs and unique challenges (such as autism or developmental disabilities) and their whole family to have an enriching educational experience in a safe, welcoming and sensory friendly environment.
Please note: The 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM slots are before the zoo opens, no general public will be let in until 9:00 AM. The zoo will open at 9:00 AM to the general public. You must register to get into the zoo for free. Thank you for understanding.
For this event we will be celebrating Earth Day with our Party for the Planet event!!! This event will look different than our pre-covid FALCONERS events because of the COVID-19 restrictions. We will be allowing a limited number of families to enter the zoo every 15 minutes to help keep social distancing in place. The first time-slot starts at 8 a.m. and the last one is at 10:30 a.m. The FALCONERS event and all of its activities will not be available past 11:45 a.m., which is why the last time slot is at 10:30 a.m. We encourage you to dress for the weather because no buildings will be open except the bathrooms and the gift shop! We will have snack and beverages available in VEZU like past events but it will just be there just to grab a snack and go. Specific details will be sent out a week before the event to those that register. There will be a to-go craft and activity book based on the theme!
We are following all CDC, state and local guidelines. Before signing up, please look over our reopening guidelines. We do require guests to wear masks (unless under the age of two) at all times (may be removed when eating and drinking). There is an exception for those who medically cannot tolerate a face covering and they are not required to wear one.
We also have a social story you can review to help prepare for your visit. To see it, click here.
If you are unable to sign up for a specific time slot because it is full, you will have to choose another time. Once your family is in the zoo you will have to follow a one-way path to ensure all of our guests can see the animals while maintaining social distance.
If you have questions or concerns, please e-mail Mariah Martinez at firstname.lastname@example.org.
