B-E-E-R. It’s a four letter word that has changed countless lives. In recent years, beer-related words like hops, gravity, malt, ABV, craft brewery, brew pub, flocculation and mashes have become mainstream in our lexicon. In Greater Lansing we have multiple beer festivals and celebrations when a new firkin is tapped. Please don’t ask me about Bung Holes and Burton Snatches. Those words are better left for the experts to explain. But I might be able to walk you through the terms of ales, lagers, malts, IPAs and stouts. Yes sirree. We’ve come into our own as a craft brew culture around here.
