The Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau (GLCVB) is pleased to announce it has promoted Amanda Toy, CMP, CGMP, GMS, CTA to Director of Sales.
Amanda was originally hired in 2011 as Sales Manager and was later promoted to Associate Director of Sales in 2014. In her new role as Director of Sales Amanda will report to David Buckenberger, CMP, CMS, CTA, GLCVB Senior Vice President of Business Development, and lead the GLCVB destination sales team to build upon current projects as well as work to focus each sales manager’s talent and bring them together to increase efficiency and further the GLCVB mission. Additionally, Amanda will spear-head promotion of the Greater Lansing Community Champions program, a local initiative recognizing individuals who keep meetings and events in Michigan’s Capital City.
Amanda holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the Michigan State University School of Hospitality Business, is on the Board for the Women in Lodging Chapter of the Michigan Lodging & Tourism Association, served on the Board for the Michigan Society of Government Meeting Professionals and has enjoyed her role as a patient concierge volunteer at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing.
“Amanda has proven to be a solid member of our sales team,” said Jack Schripsema, President and CEO of the GLCVB. “She has served the GLCVB admirably in her previous role and I know she will rise to the challenge of her new responsibilities.”
