Wharton Center's 2011-2012 season offers the best of touring Broadway, and superstars and rising stars of performing arts. The highlights of the MSU Federal Credit Union Broadway at Wharton Center Series include MEMPHIS, 2010 winner of the coveted Tony Award for Best New Musical. The season also includes three Wharton Center premieres: the Tony Award-nominated new musical ROCK OF AGES, the smash hit MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET and the musical comedy everyone is talking about, THE ADDAMS FAMILY. Returning are three acclaimed Broadway power houses: the timeless and mesmerizing WEST SIDE STORY, a brand new 25th anniversary production of the Broadway classic LES MISÉRABLES, and the show that broke Wharton Center box office records and swept up an amazing 35 major awards including a Grammy and three Tony Awards, WICKED.
The 2011-2012 season wouldn't be complete without a line-up of world-renowned performing artists such as the incomparable TONY BENNETT, one of the best big bands in the world today JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER ORCHESTRA WITH WYNTON MARSALIS, and the return of the popular ROYAL WINNIPEG BALLET with a newly commissioned work, Moulin Rouge - The Ballet. Joining this stellar line-up is the ACADEMY OF ST. MARTIN IN THE FIELDS WITH JOSHUA BELL; and the world-renowned VIENNA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA performing with the world's most sought-after trio, the Grammy-nominated EROICA TRIO.
That's not all. Wharton Center is pleased to announce the return of its World View Lecture Series. The MSU Federal Credit Union Institute for Arts & Creativity will present an amazing selection of theatre and educational opportunities for the entire family. Plus, there is a host of other superstars in all the performing arts genres including jazz, classical and world music, dance, variety, and much more.
Several season packages are available. To become an MSU Federal Credit Union Broadway at Wharton Center subscriber, you must purchase all five Broadway selections at a savings of up to 20% off: West Side Story, Rock of Ages, Million Dollar Quartet, The Addams Family and Memphis. In addition, you can save up to 20% off Les Misérables by adding it to your order. On top of that, you can also receive 20% off any Performing Arts Series events you include, and 10% off additional tickets purchased throughout the season (limitations apply).
To become a Performing Arts Series Subscriber, order at least four shows from the selection and receive 10% off. Add more shows and receive 20% off. That's not all. You can also save up to 20% off all Broadway Series performances and Les Misérables. Plus save 10% off additional Broadway and Performing Arts Series tickets you purchase throughout the season (limitation apply).
