LANSING, Mich.-- The Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau (GLCVB) is pleased to announce Jack Schripsema, GLCVB President & CEO was named as the tourism industry’s CVB Star of the Year, at the Pure Michigan Governor’s Conference on Tourism, Stars of the Industry Awards Dinner, held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018.
The event at the JW Marriott International Ballroom in Grand Rapids included hotels and attractions to CVBs and restaurants as well as the state’s hospitality community gathered to celebrate the success of the Pure Michigan Campaign, the State Tourism Industry and highlight the 2018 Stars of the Industry.
Jack Schripsema was honored with the CVB Star of the Year award. This award recognizes an individual who works with members, vendors and consultants to implement marketing programs that actively motivate travelers to visit and frequently return to their destination or area. He received many accolades from the industry for the great work he has done on behalf of the tourism industry and right here in Greater Lansing.
“I am very proud of the work the GLCVB has produced this past year,” said Schripsema, “I am honored to be a part of this organization and look forward to continuing our work to advance the goals of the GLCVB team and the entire Capital region.”
Other Lansing entities also received awards during the evening. River Town Adventures was named Michigan’s Seasonal Operator Star of the Year and Ed Kluge from the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center was recognized as the Operations Star of the Year.
