Position Description
We are seeking a current college student to join the Lansing Sports CommissionTM. This part-time position is paid, with evening and weekend work required. The position is semester-based. Position reports to the Executive Director of the Lansing Sports CommissionTM and assists in providing services and support for sporting events in which the LSC is involved.

On-site sport event assistance, including several evenings and weekends

Various administrative and clerical functions.

Creation of team bags and other customized information.

Researching prospective sporting events for the Greater Lansing area.

Assist with updating of social media content specifically showcasing onsite event happenings.
Environment
Creative and collaborative, dynamic, fast paced work environment. Part-time intern position located in professional office in Lansing, MI. Standard work hours Mon.-Fri. 8:30 am – 5 pm., with opportunity for flexible/part-time remote schedule. This position involves working evening and weekend events.
Core Competencies
Our preferred candidate will have a working knowledge of sport management and event coordination, strong organizational and time management skills, and an ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite are required. Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills are essential to success in this position. Reliable transportation is required.
Experience in sport management or coordination is preferred.
Essential Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Requires physical activity for extended periods of time such as computer work/keyboarding, telephone use, bending, reaching, twisting, sitting, and standing.
- Requires lifting, pushing and pulling objects over 25 pounds.
- Travel in personal automobile and air travel required for Bureau Business.
