Construction Projects
- Broad Art Museum and East Circle Drive Reconstruction - This project will reconstruct East Circle Drive from Farm Lane to Berkey Hall, located in the North Academic District. Work will include removing most on-street parking, adding bike lanes, realigning the road in front of the Student Services Building to accommodate the future Farm Lane intersection design, relocating the barrier-free parking from in front of the Student Services Building into Parking Lot 8 (west of Student Services), eliminating the driveway just east of Berkey Hall to accommodate the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, relocating several pedestrian road crossings and approach pathways for improved pedestrian traffic and safety and widening the Parking Lot 8 entrance to accommodate two-way traffic. This project will be constructed simultaneously with the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum. Construction is planned to begin in May 2010 and will be substantially complete by April 2012, with final completion by January 2013. East Circle Drive is expected to reopen to traffic in mid-August.
