Everyone is invited to the Fox Park Public Observatory for a variety of observatory programs. Check the website for dates for Public Viewing Nights and Astrophotography Nights. The Observatory is located inside Fox Park in the far northwest corner of the park past the beach area and new restroom facility. Interested participants will need to park in the main parking lot and wear sturdy shoes/boots for the 200 yard trek up to the Observatory. This is an open air observatory so dress for the out of doors and bring mosquito protection. Public observation nights are suitable for people of all ages. Program fee is $2 per person or $5 per family. Public observation nights will not be held on nights with more than 30% cloud cover. You may call the Observatory (517-645-6666) during public viewing hours to check sky conditions.
