The Lansing Symphony Orchestra’s 83rd season opens with internationally-acclaimed pianist, Ralph Votapek, performing both Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 and Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3. Celebrating his 50th Anniversary as the first-ever Van Cliburn gold Medalist, Votapek “has the technical equipment to do anything, and the true musician’s taste to shape what he chooses” (Detroit News) The evening commences with a fanfare celebration, Millennium Canons by Pulitzer Prize Winner Kevin Puts, the perfect introduction to what promises to be a magnificent season.
