You'll also find free CATA transportation on all buses and the Entertainment Express trolley, with service every 15 minutes between downtown Lansing and East Lansing and dozens of places along the way. Come out on this First Fridays and explore the fun side of Greater Lansing - where you can expect the unexpected.

Stories on the Move incorporates the art of storytelling, the principles of the Nia Technique, and extensive study of the importance of play to get parents and children moving, laughing, learning, and playing together. This class offers something for everyone! Using themes to enhance imaginative play, movement choices, and creative visualization, each class will feature: interactive movement-based stories, puppets, instruments, music appreciation & education, guided & creative movement, attention to body awareness, dance & martial arts concepts, yoga, cooperative play & dance, and singing! These wonderful elements are all seamlessly woven into a whole lot of magical movin' and groovin' fun!

CHAT Club - Spring Term

CHAT Club is an educational club for children ages 7-15 at the Capital Area Humane Society. Meetings provide members with the opportunity to get involved with the animals at the shelter through animal handling (puppies, kittens, dogs, cats and pocket pets), lessons about animals and responsible pet ownership and fun activities.

2013 CHAT CLUB & OPEN YOUTH VOLUNTEERING SCHEDULE
CHAT Club meetings will be held on the following dates in 2013 from 4:30-6:45 p.m. In case of bad weather during the winter months, CHAT Club will be cancelled when the Lansing School District cancels school for that day. Generally, meetings are held every TUESDAY of each month. All CHAT members are welcome to attend Open Youth Volunteering meetings every Thursday.

04-01-2013 to 04-01-2013 - The MSU Museum moves backward - and forward - in time in a new exhibition that invites visitors to explore how we perceive our world in its three physical dimensions. Visitors can wander through the MSU Museum's rich collection of stereo-viewing technology and see how the world of the late 19th and early 20th centuries was transformed into 3D images for fun and education. They can visit a stereo-photographer's studio from the late 1800s. Then relax with a Victorian family as they enjoy exploring the world through stereo-photographs before jumping through time to visit a movie theatre of the 1960s and watch a 3D film wearing the classic red-blue glasses.

Each week we feature a different fun topic of interest for adults and children. Past presentations having involved Valentine's Day eggs, Healthy Environment;Healthy Me with MSU Recycling, Dr. Seuss's Birthday with CADL, Pollinators and Environment with Fenner, and many more. The last half hour of the program will be dedicated to a nutrition education lesson which will be accompanied with a food demo and delicious sampling!

05-06-2013 to 05-06-2013 - This exhibition explores the local area’s modern architectural design heritage in residential, commercial, public and religious buildings. From examples by internationally known architects to those who practiced solely in mid-Michigan, the modernist style represented a forward-looking approach to contemporary living. Prompted by the State Historic Preservation Office’s “Michigan Modern” project (michiganmodern.org), this exhibition offers an appreciation of East Lansing’s 1940 - 1970 architecture. It also considers the use of new technologies, modern designs for the home that were available locally, and contemporary art that was popularly collected by homeowners.
