Cello icon Yo-Yo Ma, Grammy-winning pianist Emanuel Ax, and violinist extraordinaire Leonidas Kavakos unite for an intimate performance exploring trios of Johannes Brahms and Franz Schubert. Schubert’s Piano Trio No. 1 in B flat, Op.99  (D. 898) is a large-scale work that nonetheless feels intimate, well balanced and mellifluous. Brahms’ Piano Trio No. 1 in B major, Op. 8 is perhaps his most unabashedly Romantic creation, written by the composer at a very young age. Revel in the contrasts (and commonalities) between these two extraordinary works as performed by three of the world’s greatest musicians!
