The Lansing Board of Water & Light’s Chili Cook Cook-off is ready to travel around the world and within the City of Lansing! The 23rd annual event, presented by LU665 the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Lansing Division and National Electrical Contractors Association, will be held on Friday, October 12 and will change locations from Adado Riverfront Park to Cooley Law School Stadium, the home of the Lansing Lugnuts.

“Our Chili Cook-off is continuing to grow, and so our venue needed to grow with it,” said BWL General Manager Dick Peffley. “Hosting the event at the stadium is a great move to help bring in more people and give more back to our local charities.”

This year’s theme will celebrate “Chili from Around the World!” Guests will sample chili in the outfield from dozens of vendors, including local restaurants, businesses, non-profits and organizations.

Making a return again this year, is the Chili Dog Eating Contest, where participants race to eat as many chili dogs as they can in 4 minutes. There will also be a main stage with live music, a merchandise tent and access to the play area at the stadium for families.

Tickets will be available online on the Lansing Lugnuts website immediately, and at the Lugnuts ticket office beginning in March. Pre-sale tickets will be $5 for adults and $3 for kids under 12. Tickets purchased at the gates the day of the event will be $10 for adults and $5 for kids under 12.

Proceeds from the Chili Cook-off will benefit Pennies for Power, Impression 5 Science Center and the H.O.P.E. Scholarship Program.
