Potter Park Zoo will celebrate International Red Panda Day Sunday, Sept. 25 from 12 to 4 p.m. Activities will include docent discussions of red pandas, an art lesson on drawing a red panda and other fun things for kids to do. There will also be red panda enrichment and bamboo feeding.
Potter Park Zoo Keepers will be selling items to benefit the Red Panda Network, a conservation organization dedicated to the red panda. The red panda is an endangered species native to Asia. They can be found from Nepal to the Sichuan province in China. Potter Park Zoo is home to four red panda, Rupert Jr., a 7-year-old male, Maliha, a 1-year-old female and two new cubs born earlier this summer.
