The City of Lansing has recently joined the AARP Network of Age-Friendly Communities. Please join AARP and the City of Lansing at one of the upcoming Age-Friendly Lansing Community Conversations to discuss the local efforts needed to make Lansing a better place for all ages.
Our country is experiencing a dramatic demographic change which will result in our communities needing to support twice as many people over the age of 65 as we have today. What will that mean for housing, transportation, health care, social services, work force and economic development? At the same time we address these issues, we want to make sure our communities continue to be a place where people of ALL ages want to live, work and play.
It is important that we hear your feedback and opinions on how local policies and programs can drive innovation within the city and make it a more livable community. During the community conversation you will gain a better understanding of what it means to be Age-Friendly, how it can help drive economic development and share your input on what can be done to meet the needs of the community residents as they age.
We all have a role to play in developing the public, private and personal solutions needed to keep Lansing as vibrant as the people who live here. We hope you can participate in this dynamic dialogue. If you are able to attend one of the events listed below, please RSVP no later than 24 hours prior to the event by calling 1-877-926-8300 or online.
