Maybe you've heard about Michigan State's basketball teams this year?

Tom Izzo's squad is a national title favorite and the Spartans are led by Miles Bridges, the consensus player of year in the Big Ten and the country.

There is a group of like-minded attractions that are open during Be A Tourist in Your Own Town this year that I think that folks will enjoy whether they’re eight or eighty years old. For sure, you could follow the crowds and hit up favorites like Impression 5 Science Center or Potter Park Zoo, but here’s a suggestion for something just a bit different and some of these things you just can’t do every day.

Spring is almost here in Greater Lansing and although we can’t predict whether Mother Nature will still drop a surprise foot of snow, we can predict another great lineup of events. Check out our monthly roundup of what not to miss this month in Lansing and start saving those dates!

What’s cold, white and celebrated all over? Winter break! Well, at least in Michigan. Sure, it might not be as lengthy as summer break and you can’t shouldn’t wear flip-flops, but it’s time off from school and that’s exciting enough. If you have one or more kids home from school, keep them entertained with one of these fun and affordable things to do.
