Heads up to all you Pokémon Go folks. No seriously. Heads up from your screens. Lansing is teaming with Pokémon, Pokéballs, gyms, Pokéstops and everything that every young Pokémon Go player needs or wants. We’re pretty sure you could spend a few hours [ahem!] a few days capturing, training, and building up your team. Whether you’re on the red, blue or yellow team, Greater Lansing has a big river, tons of parks, monuments and public spaces.
I cannot think of anything that I enjoy better than sitting outside on a beautiful warm, sunny day. Wait. How about sitting outside on a beautiful day with people you love…sharing stories, laughing and telling bad jokes?
How could it get even better? Sitting outside on a beautiful day with people you love, not having to cook with a server on hand with delicious food and drinks. It. is. the. best. Hands down. The food and drinks just taste better and the atmosphere is most definitely both relaxed and festive.
Have you attended Be A Tourist in years past and think you’ve seen it all? How about skipping the super popular and crowded places like Potter Park Zoo and Impression 5 and try something different this year?
I’ve listed ten alternative suggestions, but there are more. Purchase your passport and try something new during this year’s Be A Tourist In Your Own Town.
Be A Tourist In Your Own Town is coming up Saturday, June 4th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Purchase a ‘passport’ for one dollar and get to see over 80 Greater Lansing attractions. It’s a fun day for residents and visitors alike. So grab the kids, family, your best buddies or even a date and plan to spend the day discovering Michigan’s capital city!!!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and since my coworker Brendan just wrote about great gifts to get the man in your life, I thought it only fair that I should share the woman's side of things. Let's get one thing straight. If you think Valentine's Day is geared toward women and what makes them feel loved, then I'm going to say that you're pretty much correct. Women (and I actually mean me) tend to have a tangible love language and want to be reminded that they are oh so very special. They want to know that they are loved and cherished and the traditional gifts of flowers, candy and a card never go out of style. So here's the skinny on Valentine's Day gift giving.
