I’m having a little trouble focusing today, but I doubt I’m the only one. Summer just seems to cast a spell that makes minds wander and attention spans diminish. In my defense, it doesn’t help that Lansing’s Common Ground Music Festival has set up practically right outside my office building and that visions of Tim McGraw and Dierks Bentley keep dancing in my head.
Now, if you read my personal bio blog, you probably already know I am a music lover. So naturally, when I took this summer festival personality quiz, my results were "Music Maven" and Common Ground was one of the festivals selected for me.
Actually, I’m ashamed to say, I was offered Common Ground tickets in 2014 and turned them down. My excuse? I didn’t know any of the artists. (Slaps head.)
Fast-forward to the following year: I accept the tickets, attend the festival and wouldn’t you know it–my favorite band of the night wasn’t even the headliner. It was a group I never heard of before. They were talented, energetic and made you feel like you were part of the performance. Which is probably my favorite aspect of Common Ground–the ability to sit up-close and personal with many of the bands that, who knows, might be playing on the “big stage” the next year.
Well, I’ve probably carried on enough about my infatuation with Common Ground Music, but music festivals might not even interest you. That’s ok, because Greater Lansing has plenty of other events to choose from. Whether you’re into art and history or food and beverage tasting, there is a festival for you.
So go ahead, take the festival personality quiz like I did and hopefully it will lead you to your perfect festival match.
