Proof that the Greater Lansing hospitality community is responding to growing visitation trends is showing all over town as the area welcomes five new hotels into the region. Two are currently under construction, three have been green-lighted for development. The new lodging properties, two in East Lansing, one in Delta Township, one in Okemos and another in Lansing Township near Eastwood Towne Center, will bring over 600 new guest rooms to the community.

The Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau (GLCVB) and the Lansing Entertainment and Public Facilities Authority (LEPFA) are pleased to announce a landmark collaborative agreement between the GLCVB and Lansing’s 125,000 square foot downtown convention center.
When I started at the CVB 10 years ago, I really thought that it wouldn’t be much different than my previous jobs in hotels sales. What I quickly learned is that selling a destination and selling a hotel and/or meeting room was, in fact, very different!
There's a reason that businesses and association groups return to Lansing year after year for conventions and meetings: They know that Michigan's Capital City lays out a welcome mat and goes the extra mile to ensure every element of your visit exceeds expectations.
As a meeting professional, we often get “caught in the weeds”. We feel so trapped in the logistics of day-to-day, conference-to-conference, BEO to BEO, that we don’t think about WHO we are and the human side of our job. Envision a world where no one shared their strengths, talents and personality. Imagine if we just showed up, completed the check-list and went home. Some days, that’s kind of how it is! Now, what if we dug deep into who we are, what we stand for, and what organic personality traits we can share? What a colorful, fantastic, energizing workspace we could enjoy.
The most common question I am asked by social, military and religious event planners is ‘what are some creative solutions for planning events on tight budgets?’ Based on the group and their specific needs I have five solid creative budget considerations that can make an event great at a fraction of the cost.
Do your event attendees love “Up-North Meetings” but struggle with travel time, ability to see the area, golf, really and truly experience the resort activities they look forward to AND attend sessions and network like they’re supposed to? What if you could cut the travel time out and get right to those highly sought-after up-north amenities? Did you know you could have the best of both worlds? Where? Right in Greater Lansing, Michigan – and in seven easy ways!

You’ve been holed up in a business conference all day and now it’s time to see why your event planners picked Lansing.
Whether you’d rather hit the links for the last few hours of sunlight or hit the bar for distinctive craft beer and spirits, Michigan's Capital region can help you relax. The middle of the Mitten has so much to experience you’ll wish your conference would last another day.
We are busy people. If we aren’t busy, we should be; life is too sweet to not embrace the possibilities. As Time Management becomes a new trend in balance, here are the top 6 tips to practice, practice, practice!
