Walk around in downtown Lansing and you can find an abundance of details that might just be overlooked if you’re intent on just getting somewhere. Slow down and look closer and take notice of workmanship that you just don’t see in newer buildings. This is craftsmanship at its finest. If you look, you can see that the buildings are telling you their story.

Lori has been an enthusiastic cheerleader for the Lansing area for over 10 years now. She still gets excited about all the fun things there are to see and do in the region yet can't believe that there's only 48 hours in a weekend. Besides cheering on the Spartans in sports, she loves a great classic car show, a beautiful botanical garden and a nice chilled glass of wine.

Did you know that Greater Lansing is home to well over 20 community famers’ markets? Each set up
Heads up to all you Pokémon Go folks. No seriously. Heads up from your screens. Lansing is teaming with Pokémon, Pokéballs, gyms, Pokéstops and everything that every young Pokémon Go player needs or wants. We’re pretty sure you could spend a few hours [ahem!] a few days capturing, training, and building up your team. Whether you’re on the red, blue or yellow team, Greater Lansing has a big river, tons of parks, monuments and public spaces.
I cannot think of anything that I enjoy better than sitting outside on a beautiful warm, sunny day. Wait. How about sitting outside on a beautiful day with people you love…sharing stories, laughing and telling bad jokes?
How could it get even better? Sitting outside on a beautiful day with people you love, not having to cook with a server on hand with delicious food and drinks. It. is. the. best. Hands down. The food and drinks just taste better and the atmosphere is most definitely both relaxed and festive.
Have you attended Be A Tourist in years past and think you’ve seen it all? How about skipping the super popular and crowded places like Potter Park Zoo and Impression 5 and try something different this year?
I’ve listed ten alternative suggestions, but there are more. Purchase your passport and try something new during this year’s Be A Tourist In Your Own Town.
Be A Tourist In Your Own Town is coming up Saturday, June 4th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Purchase a ‘passport’ for one dollar and get to see over 80 Greater Lansing attractions. It’s a fun day for residents and visitors alike. So grab the kids, family, your best buddies or even a date and plan to spend the day discovering Michigan’s capital city!!!
B-E-E-R. It’s a four letter word that has changed countless lives. In recent years, beer-related words like hops, gravity, malt, ABV, craft brewery, brew pub, flocculation and mashes have become mainstream in our lexicon. In Greater Lansing we have multiple beer festivals and celebrations when a new firkin is tapped.
I can hardly believe that the 6th annual Capital City Film Festival is finally here. I’ve been waiting so long. Mark your calendars beginning Wednesday and running through Sunday (April 6-10.)
