If you're planning an event but aren't sure which type of event seating plan is right for you, here are some questions to ask yourself before you decide which arrangement will work best for your event:
- How many people will be attending your event?
- What is the purpose of the event?
- Are there any restrictions due to the type of venue selected for the event?
- Will the guests need to interact with one another at any point during the event?
- Are there any special activities or circumstances that need to be taken into consideration?

Real Estate agents don't know everything, but they are right about one thing. Location means everything, whether you're buying a house or planning a meeting. Selecting a destination that is conducive to the event's purpose, while also taking into account how far event attendees must travel, is the first step in putting together a successful event. It's also the first step in planning an environmentally-friendly meeting. That leads us into number one on our list of top three things smart planners consider when planning a meeting that’s both successful and green.
I think you'd be surprised, that in a community the size of Greater Lansing Michigan, we have so many well-known stand-out athletes born right here in the middle of the mitten. From wrestlers to divers to golfers to boxers, runners, refs and hoops stars we are literally brimming over with sports super stars. To me it says something about our local sports culture. This is a sports-minded community, and not only because we have Michigan State in our backyard. Sports are just in our blood.
Homecoming is a special time to remember and celebrate important people and places from the past. Think back to your college days and the times and memories you had at your honored Alma Mater! As a proud Alum I can speak from experience about the special and exciting feel of homecoming at Michigan State University. Simply put? It's time for all things GREEN!
The Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau (GLCVB) is pleased to announce it was recognized with a Diamond Award by the Michigan Society of Association Executives (MSAE) at the 15th Annual Awards Banquet recently held in Plymouth, Michigan.
We're lucky in Michigan, and of course in Greater Lansing, to have 4 distinct seasons in the year. Spring, Summer, Winter and Football season. Around here its Spartan football, and its fabulous return means a lot of good times and a rush of warm memories of victories passed.
Who hasn't wanted to be a part of a Guinness World Record? Okay, maybe not the longest fingernails or best beard on a lady...but one of the other awesome records! Like how about being a part of the biggest Cornhole Tournament the world has ever known? That sound like a good one? You know it does!
