LANSING, Mich. - The Greater Lansing Sports Authority (GLSA) is pleased to announce three high-profile sports groups in town for the weekend of June 12-15, welcoming over 1,100 athletes as well as family, friends and fans, making for a busy tournament weekend in Michigan's Capital region.
Kicking off the weekend is the MHSAA Baseball and Softball Semifinals and Finals. This statewide high school athletic event welcomes 32 teams, as well as family and spectators to the area for three days of tournament action. The event, coming to the area for the first time in over 25 years, will take place at both McLane Stadium at Kobs Field and Secchia Stadium on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing.
Next up is a first-time event for the region, and the first official Curling Bonspiel (Tournament) ever hosted in Greater Lansing. The Summit Sports & Ice Complex will play host to the 2014 USA Curling Arena National Championships which will bring Men's and Women's divisions (16 teams for each) from around the country for top competition and a three-day stay in the community.
Last is a long-time event for the area, bringing great baseball tournament games to the area for over a decade. The Capital City Classic Baseball Tournament hosted by Triple Crown Sports on June 13-15 will bring over fifty 14U, 16U and 18U teams to numerous fields around the region including Kircher- Municipal Field, West Side Park and Cooley Law School Stadium.

We want to fill the calendar, and area hotels and restaurants, with all kinds of sports tournament teams," said Mike Price, Executive Director of the Greater Lansing Sports Authority.
